7-week paid internship where students learn about MA court system, the role of the judicial branch of government and fundamental principles of law. Students work under supervision of clerks, probation officers, etc in Boston area courts.  Work responsibilities include clerical and office duties, including filing, answering calls, helping the public with information, assisting court staff.    Students work in different courthouses across the city of Boston. Interns also participate in a Mock Trial with the Nelson Fellows at the end of the summer. Students who are accepted into the program must be available for the Spring Session held every Thursday 5/24 - 6/21 Grades: 10-12  Turn all COMPLETED materials to Mr. Lawson. Application with typed short answers  One recommendation Letter in a sealed envelope  Resume  Application Deadline Tuesday April 3rd  _______________________________________ Nelson Judicial Fellowship Each fellow is assigned to an individual judge and will work in that judge's chambers. Fellows attend trials with the judge and assists in office operations and court management. Students will observe court proceedings; meet with Judges, Magistrate Judges, and staff of the United States District Court; meet with representatives of agencies actively involved with the court, including the Offices of the United States Attorney, the United States Marshal, and the Drug Enforcement Administration, and visit local private law firms.   The final exciting event is the mock trial, in which every fellow participates. Fellows also participate in a Mock Trial with the JYC interns at the end of the summer. Application Deadline Monday April 2nd 3:00pm ___________________________________ Boston Bar Association (BBA) This is an 8 week internship where students (grades 10-12) do general administrative work in law offices in Boston and attend law-related seminars taught by volunteer judges and lawyers. Students work in law firms/offices, as well as government agencies, legal non-profits and courts.
